Alrighty then, horror fans....let's have it: which horror films boast the best soundtracks?
My own votes go to:
1) Interview with the Vampire 2) The Lost Boys 3) 28 Weeks Later
Among others. ;D

1. Friday the 13th Part 3 2. Ravenous 3. Zombi 2
Special "Thanks For Trying" Award goes to: Silent Night, Deadly Night for "It's Always Christmas On The Warm Side Of The Door" somebody had to sit down and write that. Think about that, people...

On the commentary for Run Angel Run, Joe Bob Briggs makes numerous references to the soundtrack, but it's just not that good. I like Psycho's soundtrack the most, and The Exorcist. For movies with vocalist soundtrack, I choose The Devil's Rejects. Friday the 13th: Jason Lives has a decent soundtrack with some Alice Cooper.

Return of the Living Dead I second that. "Do You Wanna Party?" is musical genius. And the theme from that movie gets my head boppin' every time.

Lots! Mostly exploitation soundtracks have the best ones, especially those from the late 60s, early 70s like Vampyros Lesbos or the black Emanuelle series.
And how could I forget 80s horror movies with their cheesy synth scores and hilarious pop music? I love those too...

Goddamn, no one's yet mentioned Cannibal Holocaust. HOW CAN THIS BE?
Anyways. I really enjoy the soundtracks to Death Proof, Planet Terror, Army of Darkness, Halloween, The Exorcist, and (people will give me shit for this, but I care not) Last House on the Left.

Good choices, darkside. I can truthfully say that Lou Gramm's "Lost in the Shadows" is still one of my very favorite horror hits.

Not something you wanna listen to much but as an example of music well used (very sparingly)..... Funny Games! the best musical description of terifying mental chaos I've heard.
