So....how many of you horror gurus out there have musical guilty pleasures that you just can't get enough of? I do....
Mine are:
*drum roll please*
Nickelback, Evanescence, Roxette, and various 80's bands (such as Bon Jovi)
How about all of you?

Tom Jones, huh? I like him, actually...although my favorites of his are "She's a Lady" and "It's Not Unusual." I nearly swooned when I found out that he collaborated with Prince on the single, "Kiss." And the guy still looks fantastic for his age (67).

Confession...
I own and listen to Fabio's album... and Joe Pesci's album... and yes I even have a copy of 'Porn to Rock'...
I can't stop myself... I frequently have a compulsion to purchase those types of CD's... I find them hilarious.... I'm really sick and need help

I Ran is the greatest song of the 80's.

That's a fantastic list! "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by The Proclaimers is the main reason I bought the film Benny and Joon. I was also a HUGE fan of A-Ha back in the day. And omg...Dexy's Midnight Runners...who could forget them? *Nostalgic moment over.* Anyway, awesome list!

Just jumping on the Flock of Seagulls love! I own the greatest hits CD, and it's damn wonderful, so many great songs (although I have to admit they all sound the same). Another 80s guilty pleasure: SANDRA!

Everyone is a secret A-HA fan... that's just part of the human condition... or there's some kind of hypnotic effect in those high notes... Also, is it wrong that I sometimes jig around the house singing 'Come On, Eileen'?

I was always partial to their title song for the James Bond movie, Living Daylights. Which takes me into another level of guilty pleasures...Timothy Dalton as my favorite Bond.

No, Shaggy, it is not wrong that you go around singing "Come on Eileen"..... Do you sing A-Ha, too? ;D Only in the shower... I feel free when singing A-HA nude. ;D willtreadway- You wanna talk guilty Bond Love? I take a day off once a year (sometimes twice a year) to celebrate Bond. It's the only religious holiday I take. (And yes, when I tell them I'm taking the day off I tell them its for 'religious reasons'... at least I did before I started working freelance.)

I jammed out to Howard Jones' "Things can only get better" the other day. For all practical purposes I should have felt guilty about it. But I didn't. I rocked it hard. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJE5cBGgTSU

Oh, I have plenty of musical guilty pleasures. To name but a few: Pop music from any decade, including present-day pop Japanese pop, especially Halcali and Tommy February6/Tommy Heavenly6 One hit wonders (jessicaligula mentioned Howard Jones's "Things Can Only Get Better," but don't forget "No One Ever is to Blame"!) All this talk of Flock of Seagulls and "I Ran" makes me think of this: graphjam.com/2008/06/10/song-chart-memes-i-ran/EDIT: I forgot to add, since the B-52's were mentioned, that one of my favorite things to do is take a completely serious song and sing it like Fred Schneider. So, for instance, take something like, oh, "The Star Spangled Banner." Now, sing it like Fred. INSTANT HILARITY.

I wanted to punch myself yesterday when I was singing along to Mika's "Love Today" in the car. Would have been fuckin' embarassing if someone I knew saw me.

Good to see the A-Ha love. Makes me very happy. My guilty pleasures are stranger than the songs I'm proud of. I love gratuitously sex-filled rap songs. There's so over the top and disgusting. The only thing I love more is to introduce fans of the censored version to the REAL version. Like Khia's "My Neck, My Back" or Lil' Wayne's "Lollipop". Or, my favorite of them all, MC Jah Jah's "Do You Think I'm Sexy". Actually, all of her songs are oozing with over the top sex. Classy lady, that one. And when I'm not listening to those in private, it's the pointless songs actually about rump shaking, like Rye Rye's "Shake it to the Ground" or Bubba Sparx "Ms New Booty". Nothing like a pointless song I can dance like a video ho to in the privacy of my own house. Or in public when people get me to drink.
