Unfortunately, I left out a few selections in my previous post and I couldn't figure out how to add more selections to the old poll, so I created a new one. My apologies for any confusion this may have caused, as well as to the posters whose favorites I had unwittingly left out. And just in case I left out any other categories, I included an "other" selection. So, horror fans...what kinds of music do you absolutely LOVE to listen to? I have the poll set to where you can choose 5 types because, if you're anything like me, your tastes change with your moods. So...let's have it...what kinds of music can you simply NOT do without? Thanks for participating and have a great day!

No, no, no....that was all MY fault for not being thorough. I'm just glad that everyone is comfortable enough to tell me when they don't like something.

Classical, hard rock, jazz, punk, and other. I'll admit, I also have a soft spot for American and Celtic folk music, thus the "other."

Aw...thanks, will. Seriously, though...it was my own fault. I mean, I forgot about PUNK, for heaven's sake! ;D

That's why I like "other." It encompasses so many different areas. ;D

A lot really, I have tastes ranging from cheesy 80s pop to metal to psychedelia, but I think I'm more into punk and it's influences... I'm picking 80s music as my 2nd favorite

I think a lot of folks here (myself included) feel the way you do, carlos, because we all tend to like different things, depending on our moods. And kudos on the 80's stuff.

I picked Dance/Technotronic, even though I have no idea what technotronic is.
Punk is a close second.

Well the word "Technotronic" is actually the name of a band from the early 1990s. I suppose a better word for that would have been "club" music. When I hear the word or term "technotronic" I think of synthesizers because the music has an electronic sound to it. That style of music seemed to permeate the early 80's dance and disco scene. Once you hear it, you never forget it. Does that help?

You could just say EDM - Electronic Dance Music.
I take offense to the terms "club music" or "electronica".

You take offense? At that?
Wow...
Well, you can retract your vote if you wish.

You take offense? At that? Wow... Well, you can retract your vote if you wish. I don't actually take offense, it's just that everyone calls it that, and it's irritating if you like EDM. Seriously, all EDM listeners absolutely hate terms like that. Just letting you know, to possibly save some grief later, from another angry EDM nerd such as myself. It's like the equivalent of me calling Metallica emo rock, because they have long hair that could cover their face and they occaisionally sing about depressing subject matters. There's some semblance, but not much.

LOL...I gotcha. I understood what you were saying, I just didn't know how you wanted me to fix it. The only remedy I could think of was for you to retract your vote. And I thank you very much for the "heads up." I truly didn't know that those terms were offensive. Thankfully, I know that now. Thanks again, ascoldasice.

No probs, it's just if you went on listology and started using those words, people would get angry fast.
