For some odd reason there are very few good naziploitation movies out there. They sound wonderfully depraved and offensive, which is perfect for someone like me, but often they end up just being boring crap. I’ve seen several films from the genre and there’s only been two I liked, “Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS” (the best of the lot) and “Deported Women of the SS- Special Section”. “Salon Kitty” is one of the more popular naziploitation movies around and really sounded like something I’d enjoy, but once again it bored the crap out of me.
The biggest problem with “Salon Kitty” is its runtime. There are exceptions of course but as a general rule exploitation films don’t work past an hour and forty-five minuets or so as that means a large portion of the film will be pointless padding that only serve to stretch the movie out. “Salon Kitty” is no exception to this rule and with a run time of almost two hours and fifteen minuets this film is incredibly tedious. The story could have easily been told in about ninety minuets. “Salon Kitty” has other problems as well. The acting is very wooden, the dialogue is very amateurishly written and it creeps along at a snail’s pace. Furthermore the horrible music did nothing for me. To top it all off this film isn’t really that violent or depraved. There are few things I like about “Salon Kitty”. This movie does have a good helping of nudity and there are a few lesbian scenes (including an awesome lesbian dominatrix scene). There’s also a scene where a woman has sex with a hunchback midget and another where a woman has sex with a double leg amputee. Despite those good bits though “Salon Kitty” (most of which occur at the beginning anyway) “Salon Kitty” is just a boring naziploitation movie with an all too kind reputation.
