I decided to watch it mainly because I'd seen Robert Englund had directed it, and I was curious - of course, he'll always have a place in everyone's cold, black heart as Freddy, but I'm quite fond of 976-EVIL, for all its cheesyness, so thought I'd give it a turn. Gotta say...it was crap. It's got something of an Idle Hands vibe about it, but half the time for me I thought the gags fell flat on their arse. I had to laugh at Joey " Blossom" Lawrence sending himself up, though, guy was a good sport. And there's hot women all over the damn place, but no gratuitous T&A shots...whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?? Well okay, so that last complaint is more a commentary on me being a perv and less to do with the film, but I thought it suked overall. Has anyone here seen this horror-comedy? What was your opinion?

All good will I might have had for Englund vanished when this shitfest ended. May he get hit by a bus.

Ugh, I completely agree with you. I was excited for this one because I'm a big Robert Englund fan (who isn't?). I almost felt guilty at disliking this movie so much just because I was pulling for him to make a decent film. I was so embarassed for Englund for making such trash. The laughs are nonexistant and the whole Joey Lawrence thing is just a huge failed joke imo. The characters are all pretty obnoxious and, by the end, I just wanted them all to die. I'd probably give it a 3/10.

I hated it. My review:
With only his second directorial showing in feature films to date, Robert Englund (best known as Freddy Krueger) brings us 'Killer Pad': the story of three loser friends (Doug, Craig, and Brody) who take up residence in a haunted house (address: 666 Perdition Road) in Hollywood. The house is wicked. Seriously. Coyotes and portals to Hell are included in the price.
The movie includes a couple small cameos (Lin Shaye and Andy Milonakis included), and features a whole host of odd characters (possessed Mexicans, S&M midgets, Joey Lawrence?). If you haven't noticed yet, and I pity you if you haven't, this is a comedy. Is it funny? Eh. There are some good one liners and stupid-funny jokes. But it's pretty much all the same sarcastic humour we've been seeing from better movies with better actors and higher production value over the past few years. I'm actually getting a little bit tired of the unattractive male-centered movies. They're fun on occasion (Knocked Up, Superbad), but they're flooding the comedy market and it only takes one like this to ruin the streak.
There's plenty of hot (and not-so) women, alcohol, partying, and crude humour, but that's about as far as your interest will stretch. It's not UNenjoyable. . . but it's just not very good.
Final verdict: A pathetic 3.5/10.

I didn't think it was bad (not that I liked it at all, because I didn't), I just got the impression that it was a kids movie, like for maybe 10-13 year-olds... maybe younger. I certainly wasn't the audience for this one, but it felt liked it was aimed for the tykes.
