Just a fun little poll to estimate this weekend's numbers. Maybe I'll make it a regular thing if people actually participate. . -AP3-

I'm gonna aim low. Why? Lady in the Water only made 18 mill opening weekend... he's forever tied to the twist gimmick and there's only so far a gimmick can carry you.

Personal feelings about M Night aside, it's not looking good for The Happening. It's stacked against Hulk, which is a PG-13 with a wide fan base. I haven't heard anything good about Happening yet, the most glowing review on rotten tomatoes praises it as "nonsense". Granted there are only 8 reviews on there, but still...after Lady In The Water, people people have had about all they can take of Shyamalan. At best all he can hope for is a sleeper. IF it's good, then MAYBE the word-of-mouth will get around.

UPDATE:
Friday numbers are in for The Happening and they're not too shabby:

THE NUMBERS ARE IN! And you all failed. The Happening turned in a $30.5 million opening weekend. www.imdb.com/chart/ Love the film or hate it, that's still a nice push forward for R-rated horror in Hollywood.

The Happening aside...I just can't believe so many people paid good money to go and watch The Incredible Hulk. I have a sixth sense, a spider-sense (yes, you may groan at both those puns now) about movies sucking, and I have to say the ads alone made that a 9.5 on the Rectum Scale.

They could've had Ed Norton sitting on the can taking a shit for a minute-and-a-half and ended with THE INCREDIBLE HULK and it still would've opened with $30 mill.
