Since Jim started a Scorsese thread I thought it was fair to start one about this guy. He's been pretty dormant for the last decade or so, but you can't deny he's directed some of the greatest movies of all time.
What film(s) of his are your favs?
Mine has to be The Godfather Part II. Apocalypse Now, The Godfather, Rumble Fish, Bram Stoker's Dracula, and The Godfather Part III are all great too.
Dementia 13 was kinda meh, but it was his early work so it's understandable.

Wow... I so want to agree but I hate Godfather III and I think he should be beaten to death for the cinematic abortion that was "Bram Stoker's" Dracula. But that's just me. Of course... The Rainmaker, Youth without Youth, Jack, The Cotton Club, Gardens of Stones, Tucker (which like Youth without Youth should have been good, but they weren't) and One from the Heart were all shit... refried and reshat shit. Also in the good category is The Conversation. He hasn't been dormant, he just mainly produces now... like Lucas (whose a horrible director but a fine producer) it's probably for the best... (It's been 25 years since he's directed a decent movie (Outsiders & Rumble Fish) )

I may one of the few who LOVE Dementia 13. I think it's a fun and interesting film with a haunting musical score but clearly a wannabe Psycho

She's a shitty actress who was easily the worst part of Godfather Part III. Still need to see The Conversation though. Gene Hackman is the man and Coppola's said before it's the best movie he's done.

I liked Bram Stoker's Dracula. It was actually good; too bad he hired American actors who couldn't do an English accent to save their lives for the two leads. Keanu RUINED Jonathon.

Apocalypse Now is my favorite Coppola, and one of my all-time favorites. The Godfather is also spectacular.

I guess, that's one problem with Dracula... and the shit script... and Hopkins chewing on scenery... or the fact that they chose to call it "Bram Stoker's" when it really isn't (It's much closer to the '79 movie with Langella)... Tom Waits was cool but he always is and that should be acknowledged.
