I'll admit I hate most modern movies, but I'm a sucker for films with a good Halloween/autumn atmosphere. Trick 'r Treat looks like it has that great atmosphere.
Who else is hoping this gets a release sometime soon?

I would like to see a release, but this one doesnt even have a distributor anymore does it? Damn Saw films are pushing it back.

I had the script, it was great. I can't wait for it. But I'm thinking The Strangers will be better.

Which script? The original, or after rewrites?

[glow=red,2,300]Well, I can't say. I'm not big on scripts, so I don't know if it's the original or a rewrite.[/glow]

I would actually rather have it go DTV if it meant getting a release this year. I hate theaters anyway.

I can't wait for the film.
I'm not putting any spoilers, but I'm guessing the main problem is the content. The writer/director broke some major taboos in mainstream cinema and I could see reluctance to try and sell it to a wide audience because of that. There's not really a way to cut around it, either, since the multiple story lines cross at times and build upon each other.
No, I haven't seen the movie. I just had a wonderful, juicy conversation with the writer/director at last years Fangoria convention in scene Secaucus, NJ.

I think I'm aware that there's a segment involving a short bus, but you mentioned "taboo s." Can you reveal some other info about the movie? Curious minds are dying to know.

There's one great thing to take from all of this...the movie's already done. At least it's not some idea that's being shipped around. I've seen great movie ideas get moved around from studio to studio only to be released DTV with shitty acting, directing, and very low budgets. The only good thing is that the movie will be released unchanged (I hope) which, from what I've heard, is great.
Anyway, I'm a sucker for Halloween movies too. I don't see how the movie can be bad, but I've been fooled before.

Well, the shortbus segment doesn't just stop there. The shortbus goes off a cliff into a lake due to a prank. All the little special children are killed in the accident wearing the Halloween costumes. So a bus load of dead children, for starters. And they're special needs children, double owies. Some critics were uncomfortable because an actor with down syndrome was used in Notes on a Scandal. Then they come back as zombies Those are the big ones I know of for certain. The clips I've seen of the razor blades in candy guy are very, very extreme revenge segments. Like, the staircases are covered in broken glass and razor blades while he sleeps so when someone knocks on the door he steps right on them and winds up with shrapnel in his foot. That's the gist of what I dug out of the guy, more or less. There are other segments, but he glossed over them. Memory's a little fuzzy from over a year ago at a noisy convention. Perhaps the biggest taboo of all for modern horror in America: the film requires a brain to watch. The easiest explanation is Tarrantino meets Halloween urban legends. With the content (very out there, somewhat extreme for mainstream audiences) and execution (kind of out there, non-linear anthology storytelling that crashes together at times), it's understandable why studios don't know what to do with it. But, here's a suggestion: release it? Maybe two hundred theaters the last week in September? Do some critic screenings so the reviews get out there early? Then expand because people go nuts over it? Maybe?
