I fixed the video for ya. Only the video ID number ( 4HUCMKjFhI0) goes between the tags. Anyway, I think this film's going to be a lot more brutal than Men Behind the Sun. And at over four hours... it's going to be fucking epic.

Some of the filming looks kind of crappy, but I'm really anticipating it. The teeth scene is the only one so far I've seen, and even that's hard to sit through. I read that the first kill is a decapitation and that it's the tamest and most humane one, therefore making the rest of the movie fucked up with violence. I hope there's a pressure chamber.

I'm surprised this is in the "new" section, Seb told me about this film must be nearly 2 years ago now. I'd like to see it, but if it's just 4 hours of torture, I don't think it'll be as good as it looks in smaller doses, it's bound to have an anaesthetic effect and...well...be boring. Or it would be to me, anyway, I can watch stuff like that without flinching, I tend to be more fascinated with how well they did the effect technically than anything else. For me, I have to have some kind of dramatic anchor to make it "interesting" if that makes sense.

For me, I have to have some kind of dramatic anchor to make it "interesting" if that makes sense. You ol' technical stickler, you. It could be interesting if it's well-done torture. (And I hear there were victims burned alive, so it just might be well-done torture. ) It could be a good historical drama if nothing else.

Sorry, I worded it badly - what I meant was that I was surprised to hear that the movie itself is still "new" and hadn't been released ages ago, given that it was 2 years ago I was told about it and shown pretty much the same clips (in fact, I think it was a longer, more explicit one from the director's own MySpace, but that might just be my memory of it).

Think it's finally out on the 8th of june. Yeah, I won't watch any old find deemed "extreme" thesedays, but I'm genuinely interested in Unit 731, and if it can be absolutely sickening and very informative at the same time, I'll be happy.

Unit 731 has always repulsed and fascinated me in equal amounts. It's amazing how so few people know of the atrocities committed there.Philosophy looks intense, and very well made. I'm definitely interested, but at four hours I don't know if I could take it.
Only one way to find out...
