So I just saw Club Dread on IFC, I don't usually mind horror-comedies, but I like it when they have a good mixture of both. While this was certainly funny, it was missing quite a bit. I didn't feel that the horror parts was all that great or gory, and I didn't find the comedy to be all that funny. Also, I didn't feel like it was a genuine mix of horror and comedy. This was almost all comedy with a few deaths mixed in. The acting was terrible, but I liked how the overweight guy finally gets the hot female lead. I loved seeing Bill Paxton take on a role like he did. As for the kills, some were pretty well done. Most of them though are your typical slasher film deaths.
Like I said, I don't mind horror comedies, but it was a tad too heavy on the comedy, and a little light on the horror. All in all, it wasn't bad, just not my taste. 6/10.

Did you like Super Troopers? It's the other film from Broken Lizard.
I personally liked it more than many horror/comedies. I didn't find most of it funny and the horror wasn't great. But I liked that it wasn't completely stupid. They took And then There Were None and added comedy, which makes it a little less worth of a low score.

I didn't watch all of it so my opinion doesn't really matter, but from what I saw, I didn't really care for it. I thought it was pretty mediocre and nothing I hadn't already saw in other movies. So a 6/10 from what I saw sounds about right.

It really seems like Broken Lizard gets worse with every attempt. Super Troopers was great, Club Dread was mediocre, and Beerfest... well, I won't mention that one.
Considering they're a comedy troupe, I didn't really expect the horror elements to be too well-done. They have kind of a unique sense of humor, so some people find their films funny and some don't. I think it's better classified as a comedy/horror-parody than a straight horror-comedy.

I heard Beerfest was good Well, from the people I talk to; not the critics. But hey, I loved Grandma's Boy, so I'll probably like that one too.
