I am a little excited for this, I must admit.
The first Hostel was pretty crappy and I didnt like it much at all, around a 3/10 or so.
But Roth's second attempt (Hostel Part II) actually worked. I really enjoyed the switch from male victims to women victims, as the woman were beautiful and actually good actresses. The gore and death scenes were also a little better and not as fake as the stuff in the first. 6/10
But to get more to the point! I am saying that so far the Hostel films have been getting better and better each time, and with Eli Roth not returning to direct this could be the best one yet.
Does anyone else have opinions on the topic?

I actually really liked the second one (8/10), although I haven't seen the first. A sequel to this doesn't really bother me and I'm looking forward to who will be on board.

Honestly, I hated the first Hostel and the only part of the second one that really creeped me out was the castration scene. Other than that, neither film was memorable. That's why I'm not really paying the third installment any attention.

I don't hate these like some people but I don't worship them either. I bought a copy (cheap) of Hostel 2 so I'd have one of films best scenes all the time; Countess Bathory...oh my.
I saw Hostel in the theater and have only seen it once since then. Maybe one day I'll pick it up, fast forward through the boring opening 30 minutes and watch it. I see that it was recently rereleased with a bunch of new features and a new cut, but I have yet to talk to someone who's seen it...

I didn't care much for the first one and haven't seen the sequel. But if Roth's not associated with it, I suppose it could be better than the previous installments.

Not weird at all....the rest of the film was so forgettable that THAT was the only scene that really stuck out. Plus, the fact that a woman did the castrating...I guess it brought back memories of Lorena Bobbitt...

I'm not afraid to admit that I enjoyed both Hostels. This looks like a DTV cash-in with little or no connection to the originals, but, I'm sure I'll check it out at some point.

I hated the first one and saw about half of the second one and hated it just as much.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...MORE MOVIES MEANS MORE CHOICES! I'd be interested in a third installment, but I never really get too upset over crappy/remake/PG-13 movies. If people don't want to see them, they can always just avoid them. There's always going to be more stuff out there that you'll like and you don't have to put out all this hate for movies you really don't want to see.
