Pretty cool, but there's no way I'm buying this. I hate when the studios do this kind of stuff. Loyal fans (like myself) go out and buy the DVD's when they are released only to see a better version or boxset come out later. I own all the movies mentioned in the set, so I'm not spending $90 for a mask. Stop double-dipping! You should give the fans that purchased the original DVD's the ability to exchange theirs for a discount or something.

I was excited when it was first announced, but now that they've revealed details, it looks like bullshit. The only way I would buy another Halloween box set—for that much money, anyway—would be if it includes: - the recently-discovered original footage of alternate takes and different angles and such
or
- all the movies, minus the remake (which will never happen here in the U.S.)
Unfortunately, Anchor Bay thinks they can repackage old products and get new saps to buy them for more than they're worth. On top of that, that mask really looks nothing like the original at all. The hair is plastic, for Christ's sake!

Looks awesome and not a bad price, either. Thanks for the heads up, buntcakepan.

I'm extremely disappointed with this set. I thought maybe since it was the 30th anniversary they might go all out and team up to bring us all of the movies, instead of 1, 4 and 5. That's just stupid, although, I may still pick it up because I've wanted to see the 25 years doc for a long time and I don't own either 4 or 5. ...But still. I'm extremely disappointed.

Ack. The mask looks ridiculous, I could find a better one for $20. Also the case looks dumb/cheap. I never understood the fantastical hype about Halloween anyway but it deserves a 3 disc edition with a tin case like a normal horror classic. Lets just hope they dont fuck up Psycho's 50th.

I understand the fantastical hype about Halloween. I agree, though. I'd be more than happy with a 3-disc tin (as long as it has long lost footage!).

I have to agree with the rest of posters and think this is another half-assed release that smacks of someone trying to separate fans from their cash rather than putting the TLC into it that would have gone into it if said fans had had something to do with the finished product. Either the photo is of an early prototype, not so good a shot or that mask is very cheap and nasty. I'm also getting sick of every other year companies like Anchor Bay resting on their laurels by reissuing some movies (for AB it seems to be this and The Evil Dead) with a slight makeover, a few new interviews and some "limited edition" packaging (limited my ass) to appeal to the collector/fan market. Also while I'm sure the original movie would look gorgeous on Blu-Ray (I just got Blade Runner: The Final Cut myself and...WOW), I doubt the other movies packaged with this look that much different than the DVDs out there now. All seems like a bit of a con to me.
