Your worst fear has become reality: the contest is back for another go.
I've made some changes to the rules since last time. Most notably, there's no longer a word limit.
· Open to anyone who wishes to enter.
· Submit one story on any horror-related topic of your choosing. Killers, ghosts, vampires, incestuous grandmas, decapitation on a bus... it's all good.
· The story's purpose should be to [orange]strike fear in, repulse, and/or chill the reader.[/orange]
· Stories must be your own work and [orange]cannot previously have appeared in a widely-circulated medium[/orange]. You also cannot submit the same story you did for previous board contests.
· Entries [orange]will not be censored.[/orange] Make it as graphic as necessary. Some words get censored in PMs, though, so give me a clue as to what the word is and I'll restore it in the final copy.
· I don't quite have the time to proofread every story, so [orange]spelling and grammar should be relatively good[/orange] so that the readers have an easy time understanding it. Small mistakes are fine, though.
· Try to keep the story [orange]3,000 words or under[/orange] so people are more likely to read it through.
· Some tales can't be wrapped up in that space and I don't intend to inhibit creativity, so stories may be as long as you want (within reason; no novellas, please).
· [orange]PM[/orange] your submission to me no later than [orange]August 15th.[/orange] Be sure to include the title of your story.
· Voting will continue for two weeks after the due date, or until there is a clear winner.
Happy writing!
