Since it was deleted on the shit board, I'll host it here. It really is sad that someone's so bitter that they have to report harmless threads to satisfy themselves. 1. Visit www.geocities.com/horrorboard/ and read all the new entries. 2. Come back here eventually and list your Top 5 favorite stories. 3. You may only vote once and make one list, so make it count. ------------------------ Points will be given out like this: 1st place vote = [red]10 pts.[/red] 2nd place vote = [red]8 pts.[/red] 3rd place vote = [red]6 pts.[/red] 4th place vote = [red]4 pts.[/red] 5th place vote = [red]2 pts.[/red] Whichever story has the most points at the end is the winner. What does the author win? A pat on the back. ;D Happy voting. ------------------------ [red] Users who have voted:[/red] (I keep a running list here. If you voted but your name doesn't appear on the list within a few days, get after me about it.) Do you think the other thread wil be deleted because of the mention of this board?

FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK All my pearls of wisdom...gone. In all seriousness, what was so bad about the voting thread? I think people just like screwing with boards, especially big threads. Shattered_Wake's marathons and remake/sequel threads were deleted after numerous replies. My friend, who was a troll before just leaving message boards, said he reported a lot of big threads because it makes people irritated the most.

It's possible, but then I'll just put it up again. It's really not that difficult to battle a troll. In some cases that's true, but unfortunately I just laughed it off. It's no trouble to repost the thread and I've already counted the two people who voted. It sucks that some people lost their comments, but most people hadn't read that many. I'm sitting outside and it's a beautiful day.

Congrats to all who had the cojones to submit a story. Great amateur writing, whether good or bad; they will all be fun to read!
So without further ado, here are my votes and remarks (aIl will be reading them randomly):
* Blossoming---I'd guess that this was written by Carlos or the Norwegian guy since some of the grammar was a little off. Saying that however, it conveyed a sense of claustrophobia and was rather poetic. I think this may turn out to be in my top five... * Butterscotch Bastard---I thought the man in the black suit would turn out to be the Devil, but he turned out to be a pervert. The last paragraph was a little muddled in its description, and, although I think the man in the suit raped the other man, I'm not 100% positive. * The Depth of Darkness---I remember the letter took me out of the story. I remember that. I only read it a few hours ago, but can't remember the story at all. * Expulsion from Eden---lol. That was a cool little play on words. Probably my favorite story so far, although it's not the best written story. * Filthy Dreams of Sandra Bernhard---Not quite filthy enough, and no horror in it, but there was something I liked amongst the runaway paragraphs, poor spell checking and grammar. A good first early draft. Needs some groomskeeping to flesh it out. * Francis Heck's House Party---I'm torn. I enjoyed the give and take dialogue but the overall length and over the top swearing and gore started to grate on me. I love to see this in movies, but books, and short stories need to be...more internal, to be truly effective. I'm going to guess ElijahCSkuggs wrote this one. One more thing. I kept getting a Douglas Adams vibe for the first quarter of the story. * From a Psycho's Diary---I found it unrealistic and unbelievable. I didn't like the abrupt name that popped up at the end. * Help Wanted--I was really liking it, but it ended too abruptly. A little work on the second half and this story could be a real winner. * Hunger Pangs and Regret---One of the better written stories, but at times the descriptive words sounded like something from English lit rather than something organic. * I Hope You Die---"Once he decapitated a squirrel for stealing his lunch." lol It was a long read, and I found myself backtracking a lot and re-reading passages for some reason. * The King---You fucker! You had me going...best story of the contest so far. Hands down. Good job whoever you are. * Marty's Room---I suppose this could be qualified as pure exploitation. The abrupt ending didn't help the story. * Meat---I read this when it was called Meat the Cleavers. I wonder if my comment in the old voting thread got them to change the name... * Memory of the Owl---Hmmmm. Good pacing throughout a but a weak ending did it in. * Nature Calls---A little wordy, but at least it was a fun read. This will probably make my top five. * Occupied---I feel like I've read this recently, or something very similar to it. Not my cup of tea. * Sincerely---that was pretty creepy. I take it that Andrew was the third child? Or was the third child not taken? Either way, as I said, creepy. * Take Out---It was entertaining and it made me chuckle in a few spots. Good work. * Type O: A Visionary Manifesto---It completely missed the mark. * The Victim---did anyone catch the Charles Manson reference and that all the names were of serial killers? * What's in the Box?---Not bad, but it gave me a Jack Ketchum "The Box" vibe, although you took it in a different direction. * The Woman and the Rapist--I liked the Clerks II reference with the pussy troll and the heavy rock lines. * The Writing on the Wall: A Tale of Ghostly Revenge ---No sir, I didn't like it...but I can't put my finger on why. Perhaps it's partly because I dislike ghost stories.

Meat---I read this when it was called Meat It was actually supposed to be amended to "Meet the Folks." I misunderstood the author and it ended up sounding like one of those special clubs with naked men.

I miss the Short Story contest Don't dismay, it's coming back... March 6thP.S. I know you don't read this board anymore, but I think I have a short film for your next contest. Why did I tell you that if I know you're not reading? Your guess is as bad as mine.
