So far this is my favourite movie of 2009. Tom Tykwer's long, steady shots and deliberate pacing harken back to 70's action thrillers such as Three Days of the Condor. The script respects the intelligence of the audience. There are often scenes which show the explanation for what's going on without bothering to explain it. Personally I find that refreshing. Hate it when a character will go "So what happened was...". Yeah, thanks...it's not like I'm already watching the movie or anything. This movie also has one of the greatest shoot-outs ever committed to film. Back on IMDB I've seen lots of people baching this film for being "boring" or "confusing". Bah. This maybe because the film was mismarketed as a straight up action flick, and it totally pulled in the wrong audience. I highly recommend this one to fans of Tykwer's other work (Run Lola Run, The Princess and the Warrior, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer).
